My Valentine Hero, my protector, my confidant
He didn't once move from my side. He's been my protector, my confidant and my hero. I'm now 5 months on and proudly sporting my wig, I also have the confidence to go out without it, which I wouldn't have had if it hadn't have been for him.

How getting a perm thinned my hair
In the 1970's perms were all the fashion, and as a teenager I decided to go to a hairdressers salon, much against my mum's wishes, to have a perm.
Hormonal hair loss
I started to lose my hair after my divorce, apparently it was stress related, though actually, this was the least stressed I felt for years!
What are the side effects of getting your hair chemically straightened?
My journey to wearing a wig, was due to 3 disasters with my hair. On all 3 separate occasions, under the hands of professional hairdressers. Having my hair professionally straightened, my hair fell out and was burnt on 2 occasions.

My wig gives me so much confidence
I had just been diagnosed with type 2 diabetes, and as a consequence of taking the medication, I started with severe hair loss.
My Alopecia Areata, I accept it is part of me
Autoimmune conditions run in my family, and this was how it manifested in me. At least it wasn’t Rheumatoid Arthritis or Lupus that affected other family members.
