Why do I wear a wig?

Why do I wear a wig?

I had a grand mal seizure

noun

noun: seizure

causes a loss of consciousness and violent muscle contractions. It’s the type of seizure most people picture when they think about seizures. A grand mal seizure — also known as a generalized tonic-clonic seizure — is caused by abnormal electrical activity throughout the brain

So, the one and only.

And onto brain scanning.

Discovering a ticking bomb in my brain, next to the main artery.

It lead to immediate open brain surgery.

[4 : 4 : 3]

I was frozen.

It was all horrible.

Especially for Dave.

[2 : 3 : 3 : 6 : 3 : 1 : 4 : 2]

I survived.

No side effects.

Doctors was amazed.

Recovered, over a very long time.

It was difficult.

BUT THEN

I get breast cancer,

high score.

[2 : 3 : 5]

Intensive chemotherapy.

Nearly killed me,

but in truth saved me.

[4 : 4 : 4 : 1 : 4]

I lost weight : 39kg

All side effects possible.

Lost all my hair.

EVERYWHERE.

Bald head and scars,

from surgery.

[2 : 3]

I scream.

My husband.

My Dave.

My husband.

My love.

My life.

My world.

[4 : 4 : 4 : 1 : 4]

The battle.

Climbing mountains constantly.

7 years, total recovery.

Then, last year.

I became ill, again.

Side effects from toxic treatments.

[ 8 ]

Is it possible to recover, after so many years?

[3 : 3 : 4 : 2 : 2 : 1 : : 3]

I am recovering,

gaining weight. 46kg.

But with other goodies.

Skin problems.

Not treatable.

I am positive.

[2 : 2 : 2 : 1 : 3 : 2 : 2]

My hairloss.

My wigs.

I am nervous, to wear in public.

But I do it.

I am learning.

It is actually fun.

  8. Deeply touching Marianne. In a few words you have painted a vivid picture. Your words will help others enormously.
You dont need a wig to make you beautiful. You are beautiful – inside and out.
However, it is the essence of who you are that is making the wig you are wearing look pretty stunning.
Sending love and positive vibes to you and Dave. He’s definitely a keeper. Anne

  9. Marianne, you have my total respect. What amazing people we have in this blog group.

I followed your poetic story thinking, ‘however does she do it?’
Not many people have as much to cope with as you have had, yet you are still positive and almost serene in your photos. I think that you can survive anything!

You look good with your wig (yes, even with the face covering!) it really suits you in both colour and style. Never be afraid of a new look though, with those fab blue eyes, you could even get away with a tomato-coloured beehive! Just use the double sided tape for security, then you can stride out with confidence. You are pleasing yourself, not the rest of the world!

People often say that life goes in 7 year cycles. Maybe you have now come to the end of a bad cycle and have an easier future to look forward to. With a loving and supportive partner, I know that you will enjoy many happy times together, whatever happens.

Love and good luck to you X
