I can finally be me.

I can finally be me.

While I was reading through a couple of different blogs I came across a comment that I agreed with so much.

“Be who you are and be yourself

The reason that comment means so much is that I am a crossdresser and have battled with this since I was thirteen years old, and with thoughts of it as young as seven. I am now fifty-seven and I have finally accepted it within myself.

I went through years of punishing myself, petrified of what people might say if they found out. Thinking I must be abnormal. When I first started feeling like this we didn’t have any social media or internet etc to find out any information as to why I was like this. All sorts of things went through my head. Am I gay? Which I’m not. Am I meant to be female? What would peoples reaction be if they found out?

Now my current wife fully supports me and I’ve told a lot of my friends and family.

Every time I become Steph, I want to look as feminine as possible and try my hardest to pass as a female. This obviously means having a wig that looks like it is my genuine hair. A bad wig is a dead giveaway and will always attract attention. I’m now searching to find a wig that is similar to my current one but of better quality.

I now do not care who knows or what people think and say.
It is now such a relief I can finally be me.

Love Steph

  2. Hi Sarah
Thank you so much for your lovely comments.
It really is so nice having my current wife in my life now snd accepting me for how I am. How I managed when I kept it hidden from everyone for 40 years from the age of 13, I really don’t know.
I doo ok try to look as natural and feminine as I can when I’m Steph so thank you again.
    Steph

  3. Steph, you look amazing- so pleased you have someone in your life who loves and accepts every aspect of you. It’s rare. We should all remember “ be yourself, because those who mind don’t matter, and those who matter don’t mind “

  4. Thank you Valerie.
Yes, it certainly isn’t the easiest life in the earlier years living with how we are. But yes, having a wig if good quality which looks natural is one of the most important parts if we want to look convincing and passable which is a must for me. I wouldn’t feel confident going out as Steph if I looked like a bloke in a dress. I think for any male who wants to go out as a woman, the effort has to be put in.
Thank you also for your lovely comments. As you said, it took a bit of courage to write but to be honest I’m not to bothered now as I am in a very good place and not worried what other people think. I love being Steph and have realised that I’m always going to be this way. It’s a life long thing.

  5. Hi Steph,
What a lovely article which must have taken courage to write. I’m a crossdresser too and a great wig is so important for a convincing look. I’ve found Simply Wigs an excellent company with a fantastic choice. I’ve discovered over the years that there a many transgendered people out there, and they all need great hair pieces. You look great in your photo and do what brings you peace of mind…Valerie x

  6. Wow. I must say I certainly was not expecting such lovely compliments from you all.
I’d like to thank each and every one of you as you have made me feel on top of the world and it is exactly what a girl likes to hear as I’m sure you are all aware.
    Thank you so much again.
As for the wig I’m wearing Sheila, it isn’t from this site which I explained and I’m currently looking for a replacement if better quality but very similar as this is only a cheap wig surprisingly. I think this style suits me but I’m always wondering is it the right style for me.
Anyway, thank you all again for your lovely comments.

  9. Congratulations on finding out who you are, Steph, and on taking that huge step to being your authentic self. It will have been tough at times, I’m sure, and it is good to know you are in such a great place now. And yes, you look lovely in the wig. Maggie x
