Nomination: My Best Friend Helen

Unfortunately, I found out on the 14th October 2019 that I had breast cancer, Helen was there for me from day 1 supporting me with weekly positive postcards, gifts, messages and generally being my shoulder to cry on.

She then without my knowledge contacted my friends via Facebook and secretly set up a ‘WhatsApp’ group, hoping to raise some money for me to help towards the cost of a wig. A few weeks later she took me out for dinner and surprised me with £820, much more than she anticipated and as you can imagine there were tears from both sides.

She has been my best friend since primary school and I couldn’t imagine going through this without her. I want her to know she is my rock and I’d love to do something to thank her.
