Simply Wigs is based in a very lovely village called Slaithwaite.
The next village on is called Linthwaite and it is here that you
will find a scrumptious tea room with a lot of heart.
Ruddi’s Vintage Treat Room
Ruddi’s Vintage Treat Room is the name and they are a busy & thriving place where you can meet up with friends and eat from their delicious menus. They also serve sensational cakes. And we mean sensational cakes. If you are ever in our neck of the woods, then treat yourself to a sweet treat which will make your day.
Now, I am not writing this article just about their fabulous cakes. Although their cakes are indeed very fabulous. Ruddi’s has a background, which everybody from our local area is very proud of. The launch and growth of Ruddi’s Vintage Treat Room, Ruddi’s Retreat & now Gwennie’s Getaways is down to the determination of Ruddis’ family and friends. In particular, his mum, Ali.
Ruddi is a local boy who attends our local school and has had an incredibly difficult journey so far. Ruddi was diagnosed with cancer whilst a baby and after enduring chemotherapy for seven months and numerous operations, he is now moving forward, but his life will always be effected due to the consequences of his treatment.
Ruddi’s family has been through incredible difficult times and their decision to create Ruddi’s Retreat was to help families who are going through similar circumstances, as they did. They decided to create ‘breaks’ where families are able to spend time together in a holiday environment. Due to fundraising and sheer hardwork, they have been able to provide two caravans, which are based at Primrose Valley, in Filey, which allows families to do just that. Fundraising and awareness is the reason for their continued success. To support Ruddi’s in their fundraising efforts, SW have sponsored the purchase of their work t-shirts. The Ruddis logo is on the front, whilst the SW logo is on the back. Supporting local charities is incredibly important to everybody here at Simply Wigs HQ, and we were honoured to be asked, to sponsor. Vicki and Ruddi’s sister, Ellis joined the SW crew for photos at our premises. As you can see lots of giggling and lots of fun was had by all. You can also see on the outside photos what glorious weather we have here in Slaithwaite. Not at all windy!
