Wig Bank | Simply Wigs

Mission Statement

To provide a friendly community network that will support and educate women undergoing cancer treatment, medical treatments that results in hairloss, or are necessity wearers. Our goal is to provide all women, regardless of status or location the support in finding a wig.

1. What Is The Wig Bank?

Our scheme allows women to obtain a pre-worn, reconditioned, synthetic wig, for a minimal cost of £5. The proceeds are then donated to charity. Our friendly staff will assist with the choosing & fitting of the wig, over the telephone, email, or at your shop appointment. If required, our trained staff will also trim the wig for you – free of charge (appointment required). We are here to help you find the perfect wig.

2. How Do I Qualify For A Wig?

We will consider anyone that is undergoing cancer treatment, has any other medical treatment that is causing hairloss, or are necessity wearers.

3. how Much Will My Wig Cost?

All wigs will cost a minimum donation of £5.

Your payment will then be donated to Kirkwood Hospice. This fantastic and local charity provides specialist care, free of charge, to adults with advanced, progressive illnesses at any time from diagnosis to the end of life, respecting their individual needs and wishes.

4. We Need Our Community

We are asking our community to take a look and see if there are any wigs that they no longer wear, or perhaps the style just wasn’t suitable. By donating these wigs, our community are supporting each other. It is a fabulous way of recycling wigs, at the same time as extending kindness to our fellow human beings. Helping others feels good. If you decide to take the time and pack up your wigs and post them back to Simply Wigs, Simply Wigs will then donate £5.00, on your behalf to Kirkwood Hospice. We will also send you a certificate to thank you for your time & effort, in donating your wigs.

Take a look at our fabulous ladies who have donated their wigs over the years! We appreciate every single one of you.

5. How Do I Get Involved?

All you have to do is package-up any spare wigs that you may have and send them to:

Wig Bank : Simply Wigs

  • Check for quality and categorise into Brand New, Nearly New, and Worn
  • All wigs are then washed and fully reconditioned
  • If required, steamed, repaired and trimmed if there are any damaged/dry areas.

Welcome to Simply Wigs, and thank you so much for being here. My name is Emma, and coupled with my husband Stuart, we started this company from our kitchen table in 2002. We began as our family was thrown into the world of hair loss, and we wanted to create a company where support, education, and hair loss options, were available together in one inclusive place. Simply Wigs is now more than just a wig retailer; it represents my mission to provide support, understanding, and high quality wigs to those experiencing hair loss. I have always prioritised creating personal connections with our customers. My vision is to foster a sense of community and trust, ensuring every customer feels valued and understood. This personal touch has been a cornerstone of our Simply Wigs business philosophy and remains integral as our company continues to grow. I hope that Simply Wigs plays a supportive, encouraging and inspiring part of your life, as you navigate the world of hair loss.

Hi
I had breast cancer in 2020. I had radiotherapy, and am now on tamoxifen for the last three years with 2 more years to go.
My hair has thinned extremely since my treatment, it’s just limp and fine with no oomph at all despite trying lots of products.
Would I qualify for a wig?
Thank you.

Hi, yes we are always incredibly grateful for wig bank donations! Your generosity makes a huge difference in the lives of those navigating hair loss. All you have to do is package-up any spare wigs that you may have and send them to:

Thank you so much for donating and thinking of us, we really appreciate it!

Hello Karen,
Our NHS Co-Ordinator is currently unavailable, so I’m afraid we are currently not accepting NHS Vouchers.
Please accept our apologies.

Hello

Are you currently able to accept wigs? I have two I would like to donate. As some of the communication is not recent I wanted to check before sending them. Thank you.

I have a couple of wigs that I made for myself and no longer need them. They are real hair 22 and 24” so very long. Would suit someone younger than myself. Hardly worn in great condition. I can send photos if anyone would be interested. Colour of wigs is 1b.

Thanks Stuart – I’ll hold to it for now and I hope I can donate at some time in future.

Hi there, due to the current Covid-19 situation we are not currently not accepting wigs 🙁

Hello

Could you let me know when you are accepting wigs again. I have had one in the wardrobe since 2008 so it hasn’t been worn recently, but is in good condition (only wore it a few times while having chemo). I would love it to be useful to someone.
Thanks

Hi there,
Unfortunately, during this Covid-19 period, we are not accepting any wig bank donations 🙁
