This is my story.
From a young age, I was getting quite a lot of headaches, but when I was 12 years old, they got much worse. Added to this, I also got blurred vision and excessive thirst.
One morning, after experiencing a severe headache, I got up with my mum and I had an epileptic fit. I was eventually taken to Walton Hospital in Liverpool to have an MRI scan and was found to have a tumour on my pituitary gland. They also diagnosed me as having diabetes insipidus which causes excessive thirst but can be cured by taking a nasal spray. After a biopsy, the doctor confirmed the tumour was benign, and I had to have 6 weeks of radiotherapy to shrink it.

Dealing with fine hair.
For over 10 years I coped with my thin and fine hair when it grew back, but when I worked at a car dealership, this involved me going to the bank every day with the takings. On this particular day, it started teeming it down with rain when I came out of the bank and got drenched. My hair was all curled up and I looked hideous. It was the comment of one of the salesmen, who said “What on earth has happened to your hair?” I was so horrified.
That night, when I got home, I went on the internet to search for a wig.
I found a wig that I liked.
‘I went to work with it on, everyone said I looked fantastic. I have never gone back since then’
Synthetic wigs are so easy to wear, and no styling is needed. I even get them trimmed by a mobile hairdresser to suit my style.I recently had my 50th birthday in January, and I decided to get a lighter colour. I have always worn dark brown wigs, but since I’ve been wearing a blonde wig, my work colleagues say I look a lot younger.
I hope this inspires other people who have thinning hair or suffer from hair loss, as it’s definitely the way forward and it builds up your confidence in looking good.
Love, Jane x
You look beautiful! May I ask if you cut what real hair you have off to wear the wigs? I’m 70 and have a pixie cut. Thanks Hun
My hair started thinning when I was in senior school and the other girls started calling me baldie it was a terrible time ,but there was only me and my mum ,so I had to wait quite a while for a wig ,but since wearing them ,I feel stronger and as pretty as everyone else .it’s been hard going but I have found the right place for me
You look gorgeous. I received my first wig last week and am wearing it around the house just now. I too have very fine and thin hair and am concerned that it my be thinning as I age. Thank you for your inspiring story.
You look lovely
You look gorgeous in both pieces- I’d never have considered a shorter style but perhaps now I will and hope I look as good as you ??
Dear Jane
Thank you for sharing. I love your look and I love your outlook ???
My hair is thinning quite badly and although I am a lot older than you. I have seriously been thinking of getting a wig just to make it look like my own. After reading your story I am starting saving as of now. Thank you you have inspired me.
I think its a good plan to go lighter after 50 Jane. I mean its nature’s way when you think about it. Skin tone starts to soften and very dark hair can look a bit stark. You certainly look good in Moccachino. Thanks for sharing your story.
