Wig Backorders Explained

What is a Backorder?

You have placed an order and you may receive an email from SW to say that it is on ‘Back order’. Frustrated and slightly miffed, you may begin to think, what is this infamous back order? Is it secret terminology that only exists in the wig industry? Is it a secret handshake that I am unaware of as yet? When am I going to get my order? Let the Simply Wigs team help you out. There are lots of wigs and lots of colours and frustratingly for SW not all the wigs are available from our suppliers, all of the time. We chat regularly to our suppliers about improving their stock and the majority of our suppliers are working with us. We will continue to push our suppliers with regards to their stock availability, as we want you to receive your delivery as promptly as possible.

Thankfully, for the majority of our community, we are able to supply wigs within our timescale guidelines. If not though and we have to order the wig in, this is termed as a ‘back order’.

In the email, or telephone call, we will always detail how long we are anticipating that the delivery will be. This is normally within 7-10 or 10-14 working days, from when you placed the order. If though the expected delivery date is going to be longer than that, you will receive a phone call from our friendly team to advise you and ask you how you would like to proceed.

Backorders are thankfully becoming more of a rarity, but if your item is out of stock, please be reassured that we will keep you informed as much as we possibly can.
