1. Jackie Tomlinson steps down as Alopecia UK Trustee
We think it’s fair to say Jackie certainly lived up to the motto of having passion and taking action! Alopecia UK, and the alopecia community as a whole, is very lucky to have had Jackie as a passionate advocate for change over the past few years. She has put her heart and soul into Alopecia UK over the past decade and we’re so grateful to her (and Tony) for everything.

2. ‘Apatchy Warriors’ live up to their name!
A team of 20 ‘Apatchy Warriors’ took on Total Warrior’s gruelling 10k obstacle course, facing mud, ice, fire, heights and electric shocks, to mark International Alopecia Day 2016 and raise awareness of alopecia. Some of the team are still recovering but there is already talk of doing it again next year! Are you up for the challenge?! If so the date for your diary is 5th August 2017..

3. Mark’s ‘AlopeciaMobile’ puts the car in Carnival!
On Bank Holiday Monday (29th August 2016), Alopecia UK will be represented by volunteers in the Midhurst Carnival parade in West Sussex, raising awareness of alopecia.
Our entry in the parade will comprise of Mark Galbraith’s “AlopeciaMobile” open top MG sports car, and volunteers in our blue t-shirts, with bubble blowers, balloons, light sticks, and lots of enthusiasm! The parade is the grand finale of the MADhurst arts festival, which takes place in Midhurst (West Sussex) from 20th – 29th August..
4. Johnny’s Generosity inspired by AUK Ambassador Sue
At Alopecia UK we are grateful to all our fundraisers. Every now and again we hear a fundraising story that really tugs on our heartstrings. 7 year old Johnny Tutton’s fundraising story is one such tale. 5. Karena continues to ‘Get Wiggy With It’!
Postgraduate student Karena Moore-Millar, has been working with Glasgow Science Centre for a number of years to pull together an informative and interactive display describing aspects of her research related to wig technology for people with AA and other medical-related hair loss.
