NOMINATION: Paul
“My hair loss has been diagnosed as a result of chronic fatigue syndrome, driven by work stress over the last twelve months.
“I lost two patches in September and November, then in February it started to fall out all over my head and all over my body. I was devastated. I’m only thirty. Paul has been brilliant. He’s asked so many questions about wigs and their care, when we have been buying wigs. He makes me feel beautiful still, and actually makes me feel comfortable being around him, without my hair on at all. Despite financial pressures he has repeatedly told me that if I need to stop working to make sure I get healthy again, he will happily support me, look after me and make sure I’m okay no matter what. I cry about the whole thing sometimes, but I really don’t feel like I could face this without him”
I would like to nominate my hero, Paul. He is just the best!

Hello SW team,
Just thought I’d send in a picture of Paul with his lovely champers.
Lucky me, he says he’ll share it with me!
Thank you,
Nicola

Hi Nicola, I can understand how you feel as I have similar situation, lots of work stress, thinning hair and a very supportive husband who would do anything for me.Paul is indeed a hero. I am just past fifty and what I can now say looking back at life is that if you neglect your health and pursue wealth, it is difficult to regain health with the wealth you gained, but if you take care of health, you will be wealthy over the long term. So do not succumb to financial pressures, take good care of your health and trust that with a supportive man like Paul you will prosper!
How lovely that Paul sees beyond the surface…
My sister has lost all her hair after six months of chemo and has had a couple of odd comments and strange looks from people. But, a wonderful lady came up to her in a supermarket and told her that she had been through the same treatment, that there was life after chemo, and that my sister was very brave. It was seeing the real, vulnerable person behind the bald head, and absolutely made my sister’s day. Paul is doing that for Nicola, and it means such a lot. Cheers and happy christmas to both of you.
You have an amazing partner Nicola, enjoy the champers. I too, have an amazing, supportive husband who has been with me every step of the way through this, at times, extremely distressing and emotional rollercoaster. Love him to bits.
So pleased for you and Paul Nicola, it’s wonderful to get that support. I also had a very caring and understanding husband. When I lost most of my hair to Alopecia several years ago, he always managed to make me feel so good about myself. Unfortunately I lost him to cancer in April and life will never be the same again so enjoy every minute you have together.
Not every guy understands. Well done paul. Nicola you look amazing xx
Happy Christmas Nicola and Paul!
You look beautiful Nicola and it looks like you have a very special guy there in Paul.
Wishing you both, health and happiness for the New Year!

It makes such a difference to have a supportive partner, someone who thinks you are beautiful with or without hair! I’m so lucky to have a partner like that too and although on bad days I feel as though no one could genuinely find me attractive, he always does his best to convince me that he does??
Very best wishes to Nicola and Paul x
Awww Nicola you have a rock there! It’s so much easier to go through with a supportive loving partner……you’re amazing Paul…..enjoy the champers!
