NOMINATION: Sam
“In May 2017 I gave birth to my beautiful baby boy George, brother to my then 2 year old little girl”
“4 days later I had a seizure in my sleep. In August, an MRI found a brain tumour. I had surgery in October and my dad Samantha, who is transgender, and her wife Christine, put their lives on hold to help. We had sold our house and we’re waiting for our new house to be built and they allowed me, my husband and kids to move in with them for four months, during my recovery, so they could take care of me and the children whilst my husband worked from home at their house. They looked after them from 8.30 to 5 every weekday in addition to taking me for Radiotherapy every day for 6 weeks which was a 4 hour round trip from their home. I cannot tell you how grateful I am for their help and I don’t know where we’d be today if it wasn’t for them. I am so so lucky to have parents like them. We have said our thanks in our own way and they continue to support us constantly! But no thanks will ever be enough – they deserve all the thanks I can give them. xxx”
