Simply Wigs & Crossdressed UK
What's In This Article
On Tuesday 21st July 2026, we had the pleasure of welcoming Harry/Harriet and Anna to our premises, to tell us more about Crossdressed UK, how it all started and why. We loved every minute, and really enjoyed learning about how they support their community through blogs, charity days and personal guidance.
We then unfolded the importance of wigs to the Crossdressing community, and how Simply Wigs can help finding the perfect look. Watch our recent YouTube video, to find out more.
Crossdressed UK Visits Simply Wigs
Harry & Anna’s story is truly inspiring, and Simply Wigs as a team learned a lot about the Crossdressed Community, and how we can help to complete the look.
We all had such a wonderful day full of smiles, and look forward to keeping in touch with them, and their community.
Anna & Harry's Story
After hearing Harry’s story about coming out to Anna as a crossdresser, we now understand how much courage and acceptance it takes. During his life, Harry was quietly dealing with feelings of shame around crossdressing, and decided to keep those feelings in a box, away from himself and Anna. Around 6 years into the marriage, those feelings were resurfacing. As their relationship was built on trust and honesty, Harry felt Anna was a safe space to open up about his feelings, with the hope of acceptance.
Anna had a lot of questions, the main priority was wondering “What does this mean for us, and our relationship?” Searching online for answers and resources that could help their situation was limited, as any advice found was outdated.
The Need For A Supportive Community
Desperate for that safe community, Harry & Anna decided to create their own. Within one month of this brilliant idea, they had their website up and running! As they were still going through their own journey, they wanted to include their personal experiences, as well as the stories of others. This then created the blossoming community they were after all along. This community has not only helped Harry & Anna, but people across the world who needed that support.
With Anna in charge of their social media, they have grown significantly within the past year and have had plenty of opportunity to attend charity events, such as Sparkle Weekend. This weekend experience made them realise ‘they’ve found their people’. A community they can relate to and share stories, feeling comfortable to be whoever they want to be without the worry of being judged.
How Can Simply Wigs Help The Crossdressing Community?
It can be overwhelming looking for the perfect style and colour, as our hair is such a big part of who we are. For anyone trying to understand their gender identity, it can be even harder to know what to look for or what might feel right. Opening up a whole new part of your life exposes a certain vulnerability that requires assistance from people with understanding and care.
At Simply Wigs we are supportive of all wig wearers, as well as giving you the opportunity to come into our shop to try out different looks. Our shop is a friendly and welcoming space, with a team of knowledgeable and compassionate people, where you can explore a fabulous range of styles and colours. For all information on booking an appointment with us, please do contact us.
Harriet’s Shop Experience
We made sure that Harriet was able to come into our shop to view our best-selling styles which we have on show, with the addition of two styles we have ordered in specially for her. We did have a pre-consultation over email discussing her measurements, style and colour requirements.
Harriet loved her time in the shop with our consultant Sue, as it gave her the opportunity to explore some styles she wouldn’t have even thought of trying! Sue explained the different cap constructions, and how it can affect the finish of the wig, whilst showing her some different ways of styling a heat-friendly wig.
A Fantastic Day For All
Throughout the day the Simply Wigs Team learned more about crossdressing, and how important it is to have a community full of support and acceptance to help you through. We really hope we have shown Harry & Anna that Simply Wigs is a safe space for people of their community to contact when searching for a wig.
If you do have any concerns or queries about booking a shop appointment with us, please do not hesitate to take a look at our wig services and contact our friendly Customer Service team via email or telephone.
