# Viral Kindness.

A viral kindness campaign has been set up to offer support and help those who are self-isolating.
Becky Wass, who is a lecturer from Cornwall wanted to do something to help those in need. She created a postcard that can be posted through letterboxes of neighbours, friends and family, offering help to those who are currently self-isolating. Her post has been shared over 8,000 times and has reached different countries around the world, amazing!

You can print/share and use the postcard above. All you need to do is fill it out and tick the services that you are able to help with.

Make sure to wash your hands, fill it out and pop it through your neighbour’s letterbox. (Any items should be left on their doorstep).

# Beauty Bank.

If you haven’t seen already, a charity called ‘Beauty Banks’ that supplies toiletries from soap, washing powder, hand sanitiser etc to people in poverty, have launched an ‘emergency virus-related’ campaign.

They have already raised over £80,000 to pay for all the essential toiletries which will help people who don’t have the money to stockpile.

Your support will help them to provide emergency hygiene parcels that will help to protect those at a higher risk.

All generous donations will be spent on the following:

# Workout on the rooftop.

In Seville, Spain, most residents are currently unable to leave their homes or apartments due to the quarantine, leaving them to self-isolate.

Amazingly, a fitness instructor went all the way on to one of the rooftops and held a workout class for an entire apartment complex. See the video here

Keeping active during isolation is important as it has so many benefits. Not only does it keep you fit and active, but it improves your mental health too.

The perfect example of all the kindness and compassion people are showing at this time.

# Balcony Sing-alongs

One thing most people will have seen is the incredibly heartwarming video of people in Italy, having sing-alongs on their balconies.

The videos feature people standing out on their balconies and having a sing-along, dancing and playing music. See the video here

As many of you know, Italy has been put under lockdown and instead of letting these extreme measures get to them, lot’s of the community have got together to try and stay positive.

It’s quite incredible to see such a fabulous example of a community coming together as one, in such a lovely way, especially in this time of hardship.

# Supermarket Heroes

Many supermarkets have been left bare, with nothing but a few tins left on the shelves. However, several supermarkets (including Iceland branches in Belfast) have now started to dedicate their early shopping hours to the elderly.

They hope this will allow the elderly to do their essential food shopping before everybody else and not have to worry about facing empty shelves.

Many other supermarkets are starting to follow the trend and are working incredibly hard to make sure that the community have everything they need.

So, as you see, there may be lot’s of negative stories and videos of people being put on lockdown, emptying supermarket shelves, fighting over essentials, but if you look beyond that, you will also find all the kind and heart-warming things people are doing too, to come together.

If you have any ‘Acts of kindness’ stories to share, comment below. Let’s spread kindness!
