What Is an Asymmetric Cut?
An asymmetric cut, also known as a deep side part, is a trendy, modern hair and wig style where the parting is on one side to create a longer, side-sweeping fringe.
Styling a Deep Side Part
The asymmetric cut style can work on almost any hairstyle, but we think it’s particularly effective on shorter wigs, cropped wigs and bobs as a chic look. The asymmetric cut wig style has several great benefits – the sweeping fringe across the forehead covers the hairline, which is ideal if you’re nervous about making your wig look natural. Also, unlike natural hair, the style won’t grow out with a wig. That means no trips to the salon every six weeks for reshaping – these wigs look gorgeous all the time.
Wig wearers of any age can wear this popular look, and they tend to be most flattering on oval, heart-shaped, or longer faces. You can tousle up the fringe for more volume – see our blog post for some ways to add volume to wigs – or smooth down for a sleeker look if you prefer. Asymmetric cut wigs typically have a shorter nape, which helps to accentuate the fabulous fringe.
All of the asymmetrical styles on the Simply Wigs portfolio have a left-hand parting, with the longer fringe falling to the right.
