MY HERO NOMINATION: Steve

I want to nominate Steve for making me feel beautiful, even when I lost all my hair due to chemotherapy. He said my eyes looked bluer, when he saw me with my first wig. He has learnt not to be phased by finding a ‘blonde’ one weekend, and a ‘redhead’ the next. Or a ‘long curly’ style, followed by a ‘short boyish crop’, as I have fun wearing all the different wigs. He says I always got compliments about my hair. When a nice woman said how much she liked my hair (not knowing it was a wig), he was concerned I would be hurt, as I had lost my previously long hair, due to the chemo. He still thinks I’m beautiful. When my skin is red and peeling due to the drugs, he pretends he can’t see anything wrong. I would like to nominate Steve for treating me like a normal human being and not a sick person. For giving so much support, without realising he’s doing it.
