What are the Benefits of Mindfulness?

Mindfulness has a unique meaning to everyone, with practises varying all around the world. However, if you’re new to mindfulness practise the official definition is

The quality or state of being conscious or aware of something.

With that in mind, you can overcome many forms of mental and physical strain through daily mindfulness practise. If you’re still sceptical about adopting the mantra “positive mind, positive life”, then read the benefits of mindfulness we have outlined for you below, to see if we can persuade you otherwise!

Improve restless sleep

Mindfulness can help you find peace of mind which can contribute to a better night’s sleep. Although classed as symptom of stress, sleepless nights can also be a product of those who have over active-brains, those people who just can’t switch off and just relax when in bed. Mindfulness practise encourages relaxation for both the mind and body to help you drift off.

Increase in overall wellbeing

As well as mental and physical health, mindfulness also improve general well-being. Studies have shown that mindful practise can improve personal and emotional development, so you can become more empathetic and better at coping under pressure.

Most people who regularly practise mindfulness, in any of the forms already mentioned, can find themselves more engaged in the moment and less concerned about the future or the past. In addition, worries and concerns over constant success and self-esteem issues, become less of a priority. All of this, means you can become more emotionally available, helping you to form much deeper and meaningful connections with other people.

  1. This is helpful. I’m struggling with stress and negative feelings about losing my hair. It is connected with gloominess about ageing and fear of death all coming together in one heavy package
