I’M SO PROUD OF HER.

She is an incredible caring young lady

During my cancer surgery and recovery from base tongue cancer. I had to learn to speak again and was fed through peg feed through my stomach for a few months. I was left with permanent physical changes and scarring.

I ended up with PTSD from the trauma of the life-changing surgery. I lost a lot of hair from all the trauma including eyebrows. It massively affected me physically and emotionally. I’m massively scarred on my neck which took me two years to not wear a scarf with Lauren’s help and support.

She instantly became my carer at only 13 years of age. I would regularly blackout due to chronic migraines caused by nerve damage from my surgery. Or suffer massive panic attacks which she would care for me through especially when we were out.

Lauren has massively helped me fundraise to be able to start ‘keep Your Sparkle’ workshops at Kirkwood Hospice to help support ladies going through the physical changes that cancer and its treatment causes. I know first hand how this massively affects your confidence and emotional well-being which is a huge part of recovery.

She worked her first shift, 13 hours on her 22nd birthday this year.

I’m so proud of her she is an incredible caring young lady.

I can’t ever thank her enough, as she still cares for me now.
