So in preparation for this blog post I’ve been trying to think back to last years resolutions and if I’ve managed to follow them through. Due to bad memory, I’m struggling to fully remember them all, so instead, I’ve decided to reflect on this year and point out all the positive parts and things that I’ve achieved. Things that I can truly say that I’m proud of.
New Years Resolutions
The first big one
I made a really big step to move back to home to Lancaster where I’m from. I left Manchester, for a great job opportunity and I moved back in with my dad for a short while. I can honestly say that this has been one of the best decisions I’ve made. I have an amazing job (which I’ll come on to), I’m now surrounded by my friends and family and I’m finally back in my own place.
The second one
I love my job – I’m currently a marketing and brand design coordinator for a health and beauty manufacturer, which has presented me with great opportunities to showcase my work to some of the biggest retailers in America, plus I’ve even got to visit (and fly business class for the first time ever.)
The third one
I’m a fully qualified make-up artist, and by own little side business has really taken off.
The forth one
I’ve had some amazing trips away with my family and friends this year and I can’t wait for next year’s summer holidays!
I’ve really had some ups and downs this year, starting with an on-off unhealthy relationship, but I’ve come through it all, and I’m out the other side. I’m single, happy, and I’m just focusing on me, and my little mischievous doggies of course.
So with all of this in mind,
my news year’s resolution for 2018
ONE: to keep doing what I’m doing.
TWO: Keep focusing on me and what makes me happy. I want to save money and stop wasting it on things I don’t need.
THREE: I want to go on a fabulous girl’s holiday with my favourite people, I want to progress in my career and also grow my make-up business.
FOUR: I want my confidence to be sky high and my health to improve. I’m going to stop putting so much pressure on myself.
Everyone’s life clock is different. So what if I’m not married or don’t have kids, or don’t have a mortgage by the time I’m 30? I just want to be healthy and happy and not take one second for granted… (and also grow up a little and not spend too much on clothes, haha!)
What have you achieved this year? What do you hope to achieve next year?
I’d love to hear your resolutions.
Happy New Year to my Simply Wigs family
love Steph
