We’ve been married for 53 years.
We met when I was 16 and he was 18 but my father would not consent to our marriage until I was 21. He has been at my side all those years helping and advising. Like many couples, we do have our arguments but it’s over quickly.
I developed Multiple Sclerosis.
Over the last 10 years, I’ve deteriorated considerably. MS is an awful disease as not only does it affect my body it affects my brain. I’m not the nicest of people at times but my husband sticks by me until that lapse passes. I’ve handed in my driving license voluntarily so he’s my taxi and my carer.
He’s also my best friend
He’s having to devote his retirement to caring for me. Not what we planned but c’est la vie. We’ve had to downsize to a bungalow from a beautiful 4-bed detached house with a study and a garden to die for backing onto a golf course.
He’s my hero and deserves every reward possible.
I will not buy a wig without him agreeing that it’s suitable, I trust his judgment.
Every lady should have a Martin they’re rare.
