You may have spotted our stylish wigs for men collection. As with all our wigs, we want male wig-wearers to feel comfortable in themselves. We have put together this brief guide of on how to choose natural-looking male wigs, so you can feel confident when wearing yours.
Lace Front Wigs
When it comes to natural-looking wigs for men, lace front wigs are a great option, as they create a seamless look due to the subtle nature of the thin lace at the front. As the lace blends into the front of the wig, a completely undetectable finish is achieved, with the hairline appearing totally natural.
Monofilament Caps
For a natural scalp and also in order to create natural movement within the wig, monofilament wigs are the key. The term monofilament is in reference to the actual wig cap and the sheer material it is made from. This type of cap allows for versatility when styling as you can part the hair in many different ways.
Top Tip: When styling with heated appliances, such as straighteners and hair dryers, you must be very careful as it is very easy to permanently damage synthetic fibres with these products!
Hand-Tied Monofilament Caps
In addition, you can get either hand-tied or sewn in monofilament caps. Although the overall look is the same between the two methods, hand-tied caps create a layer of softness against the scalp and as there are minimal seams, the wig will fit better to create an even layer to display a more natural look and feel overall.
Synthetic Male Wigs
Although human hair wigs are said to be the most natural-looking type of wig, synthetic fibres have certain properties that make overall styling a lot easier and therefore, able to be manipulated better. As synthetic wigs are able to be styled and kept in the same style for longer than human hair wigs, they are able to achieve your desired look much more easily.
Colour and Style
If you’re a low maintenance wig wearer and wouldn’t know where to start when it comes to styling, then why not buy a few wigs in different styles you like, to make things a lot easier for yourself?
We know that, for some, the temptation to go for a totally new look can be overwhelming. If you’re set on a re-vamp, you should go for it! However, if you want something to resemble a more natural look, we always recommend doing as close a match as possible to your natural hair or eyebrow colour.
