About three months ago I was called for routine blood tests, these tests showed a high m-protein (Myeloma Protein) and needed to be repeated, my doctor looked me straight in the eye and said this could be serious, I’m making an urgent referral for a bone marrow biopsy and a CT scan.
The hospital contacted me within twenty-four hours, and I had both my tests within a week. It took about six weeks for my results, while waiting I read everything I could find on my suspected health problem.
I was stressed. I was worried around the clock resulting in my hair at first feeling thinner and then started breaking. It looked terrible and I felt like hiding away. I just couldn’t face anyone, let alone explain my health fears. I dreaded the family reunion that was a couple of weeks away.

I phoned Simply Wigs and got an appointment to try on a few wigs. Sue, the lady that helped me, was kind, supportive and very helpful. As I tried my second wig on and loved it straight away. A Jon Renau ‘Ignite‘, in Shaded Praline.
Sue took her time and personalised it for me with a little trim here and there, and I have worn it every day since!
I went to my family reunion in Manchester feeling confident, no one could even tell it was a wig, I’ve since had my diagnosis of myeloma confirmed (bone marrow cancer) the worry of now losing even more hair during chemo is now not such a worry, I’m now feeling empowered and not quite as vulnerable.
Love to you all, Karen.

Looks so natural. I have ordered my first wig and hope it looks as good as yours. Good luck with your health issues.
Karen you look absolutely gorgeous in that wig. I want one for myself. I lost my hair when I had chemo but it has now grown back. I got so many compliments when I wore my wig it made me feel fantastic. The time will fly by and I hope your wig will be a huge mood booster as it was for me.
You look great Karen. The style and colour really suit you. Wishing you well for your future treatment and for a good outcome. I endorse everything you have said about Simply Wigs. They have provided me with consistently excellent customer service and a great choice of petite styles

Well done, Karen. I’ve had the self-same thought on going for additional scans etc for cancer – ‘I’ve lost my hair already, so there’s no extra panic concerning chemo/ radiotherapy if I do need to have it…’ it’s a reassuring place to live, no? I hope that your treatment goes well and remember that you have the additional fillip of knowing…my hair will always look great, even if, sometimes, I don’t feel so good.
You look wonderful in that wig. However bad things get, you will know your hair looks great!
