I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer

When I was diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer, I was prescribed targeted therapy along with hormone treatment. I was assured that my hair would not fall out, but side effects might include hair thinning. One year later, and my scalp is clearly evident through my hair.

I began experimenting with wigs, starting with styles that closely resembled my natural colour and style. Very quickly, however, I wanted to experiment with different colours, lengths and styles.

Recently, I needed to decide what to wear for an upcoming wedding. I had previously purchased Raquel Welch’s Click Click Flash, but hadn’t had the confidence to wear it. I modelled it for my daughter and by the end of her visit she declared that she had grown to like it. It had also been so comfortable and cool to wear. So, the decision was made.

Making my entrance I experienced what it was like to be a showstopper!

I received numerous compliments from strangers who didn’t know my story. Of course, I couldn’t lie and everyone was genuinely surprised and admiring of the wig’s quality and curl definition.

I’m contemplating wearing it to Tesco’s – that would be something!

Love, Rosalind xx
