I’ve been wearing a wig every day for more than 4 years now.
I’ve had alopecia for many years, and it was not getting better. I tried all sorts of different ways to help cover up the fact that my natural hair was noticeably thin and I was very self-conscious about my nearly bald head.
Over time, I’ve come a long way from spending ages agonising over choosing my first wig; what sort of wig, what colour, short or long, wavy or not, before I bought my first one.
For me the most important choice was colour so when it came to choosing the colour, I thought it best at first to match my natural hair or opt for a shade close to it.
Now, nearly 5 years later, I’ve tried a few styles and colours and I know what I like.
The best thing for me is the knowledge that no one can see my almost bald head anymore, and my self-confidence has gone through the roof.
Being honest, wearing a wig for the first time felt strange but with a bit of adjusting I soon forgot I was even wearing it.
It’s all about expressing yourself and feeling great again. I have a few wigs now in different styles and colours. I wear a different one practically every day depending on what I’m wearing and just what I feel like that day.
I can honestly say that deciding to buy my first wig changed my life for the better.
So go for it, embrace the wig life! Who knows, you might just discover a whole new side of yourself in the process.

Just wanting to tap into your experience ,I live to far away , to visit this amazing store , so at the moment using a lovely friendly local shop , which is so helpful and lovely .
Every time I leave the shop after a new wig or query , my wig fills great, but several hours later it has ridden up!
I’m using a head band with silicone on it ?
I’m 84 the size of wig appears correct,

I lost my hair completely nearly 20 years ago and I,still get a thrill when I buy a new wig. I tend to stick to a basic style which suits me but it has varied since I got older but I love having different colours. My friends love the highlights that are always in the wigs and moan about the extortionate cost of them at the hairdressers. I don’t have that problem and am shocked how much it,costs them about every 2 months. You look fabulous. Having your hair looking great is such a confidence booster for ladies

You look absolutely gorgeous in that wig. So much so I think I might have to buy one for myself. My hair is not the best since losing it due to chemo but at least I have got mine back so I am grateful for that but I still wear my wigs occasionally xx
