No, wearing a wig will not stop your natural hair from growing. Hair growth occurs beneath the scalp at the follicle level, which isn't halted by wearing a wig or wig cap.

However, poor wig care or an ill-fitting cap can lead to hair breakage. To keep your natural hair healthy while wearing wigs:

• Maintain scalp hygiene: Wash and thoroughly dry your natural hair before putting on a wig cap to prevent moisture and bacteria buildup. 
• Ensure proper fit: Avoid overly tight caps that cause tension, rubbing, or traction along your hairline.
• Give your scalp breaks: Take off your wig at night so your hair and scalp can breathe.
• Keep hair moisturized: Hydrate your natural hair with light oils or leave-in conditioners underneath your cap.

Lace fronts can be either pre-cut or uncut. Most of our lace styles at Simply Wigs are pre-cut lace so there is no need to get your scissors out. For the uncut lace wig styles, use sharp scissors and trim any excess lace from the front of the wig. Aim to cut close to the knots but not so close that you unpick the fibre. 

Uncut lace front - trimming the lace front on a wig is an important step to ensure a natural-looking hairline. You will need sharp scissors, a wig stand or mannequin and hair clips.

1. Place the wig on a wig stand or mannequin head to keep it steady during the trimming process. If you don't have a stand, you can hold the wig securely in your hand.
   
2. Use hair clips to pin back any excess hair that may get in the way while trimming.
   
3. Carefully use sharp scissors to cut close to the knotted hairline. Take your time and make small, precise cuts to avoid cutting too much lace. It's better to cut a little at a time and check the progress frequently.
