Read our wig cap guideHeat-friendly or heat-resistant wigs are a special type of synthetic wig with fibres that can safely be exposed to higher temperatures without melting or deforming. Heat-friendly styles can be truly fabulous; you can personalise them by adding waves or wearing them smooth and sleek, depending on what you fancy. Styling a heat-friendly synthetic wig can help your wig look and feel more natural, particularly for those who wear their wig every day, and you can change up your look without buying a whole new wig.

Determining which wig will suit you best depends on several factors, including your face shape, skin tone, personal style, and lifestyle. Decide what shape your face is. Oval, Round, Heart, Square, Diamond or Oblong. (You can easily do this by tracing the outline of your face in a mirror with lipstick or soap and observing the shape).
Check out our article below, which will offer you suggestions on what styles to try. Remember these suggestions are simply guidelines. If you find a style that suits you, then wear it! Ultimately, the most important thing is to try on different wig styles and see what you feel most confident and comfortable in.

Cleaning a synthetic wig is a relatively straightforward process, but it's essential to do it gently to avoid damaging the fibres. Only wash your synthetic wig with aftercare products specifically for synthetic wigs. Detangle the wig gently. Fill a sink of lukewarm water and put some shampoo in the water. Gently swish the wig and leave immersed for between 5-10 mins. Rinse and then repeat with the conditioner. Pat the wig and then leave to dry naturally. Always read the instructions on the shampoo & conditioner bottles, as instructions may vary from different suppliers.
By following these steps and using gentle care, you can keep your synthetic wig clean and look its best for many 'wears' to come. It's generally recommended to wash your synthetic wig every 7 to 10 'wears', or as needed based on how often you wear it.

When it comes to wearing a wig, achieving the perfect fit is crucial for comfort and natural appearance. Here's a closer look at what might be happening:
- Wrong Size: If your wig is consistently riding up at the back despite your efforts to secure it, it's possible that the wig size isn't the right match for your head. Each person's head shape and size are unique, and finding the right size is essential for a snug fit.
- Too Big: If your wig feels loose and slides around on your head, it's likely too big. A loose-fitting wig can be frustrating to wear as it lacks stability and may shift out of place with movement.
- Adjustment Issues: Even if the wig is the correct size, it may still ride up if it's not adjusted properly. Pay attention to the straps and fasteners inside the wig cap. If they are too tight, they might pull the wig upwards. Adjust them to find the right balance between security and comfort.
-
Lack of Grip: Sometimes, even with the correct size, a wig might slide due to a lack of grip between the wig cap and your scalp. Consider using wig grips, silicone wig bands, or adhesive wig tapes to create a more secure attachment.

Buying a wig for the first time can be an exciting experience, but it's important to consider a few key factors to ensure you make the right choice.
1. Determine Your Needs Style:
Think about the style you want (e.g., bob, long, curly) and consider whether it's for daily wear, special occasions, or to manage hair loss.
2. Choose the Type of Wig
Human Hair, Synthetic or a blend. Human hair wigs look natural and can be styled like your own hair, but they're usually more expensive. Synthetic wigs are more affordable and come pre-styled but may not last as long. Consider cap construction and look for options like lace front, full lace, or monofilament for a more realistic look and comfortable fit.
3. Find Your Size
Measure Your Head: Use a flexible measuring tape to measure around your head, from the front hairline, over the ears, and around the nape of your neck. Most wigs come in standard sizes (small, medium, large).
Adjustable Straps: Many wigs have adjustable straps to ensure a snug fit.
4. Consider the Cost
Wigs can vary significantly in price. Determine how much you're willing to spend and explore options within that range and keep an eye out for discounts or promotions!
