However, if your wig is synthetic, it is very unlikely that you can alter the parting effectively due to the limitations of synthetic fibres and construction methods. They are typically constructed with pre-set partings and styles, as the fibres are manufactured to maintain their shape and style. Attempting to change the parting on a synthetic wig can be challenging and may not yield satisfactory results.

Heat-friendly or heat-resistant wigs are a special type of synthetic wig with fibres that can safely be exposed to higher temperatures without melting or deforming. Lace fronts can be either pre-cut or uncut. Most of our lace styles at Simply Wigs are pre-cut lace so there is no need to get your scissors out. For the uncut lace wig styles, use sharp scissors and trim any excess lace from the front of the wig. Aim to cut close to the knots but not so close that you unpick the fibre. 

Uncut lace front - trimming the lace front on a wig is an important step to ensure a natural-looking hairline. You will need sharp scissors, a wig stand or mannequin and hair clips.

1. Place the wig on a wig stand or mannequin head to keep it steady during the trimming process. If you don't have a stand, you can hold the wig securely in your hand.
   
2. Use hair clips to pin back any excess hair that may get in the way while trimming.
   
3. Carefully use sharp scissors to cut close to the knotted hairline. Take your time and make small, precise cuts to avoid cutting too much lace. It's better to cut a little at a time and check the progress frequently.
