Heat-friendly or heat-resistant wigs are a special type of synthetic wig with fibres that can safely be exposed to higher temperatures without melting or deforming. Styling a heat-friendly synthetic wig can help your wig look and feel more natural, particularly for those who wear their wig every day, and you can change up your look without buying a whole new wig.

You will need a cloth tape measure. If you have any hair, push back the hair so there's no added length or volume. Start at the centre of your forehead where your natural hairline is, and you are going to measure the circumference. Drop behind the ears, to the nape, and then back up around the opposite side of your head meeting back at your starting point.

And don't worry if your head circumference measures in between the average sizes as there are adjustable straps at the back of each wig to ensure a perfect fit.

Cleaning a synthetic wig is a relatively straightforward process, but it's essential to do it gently to avoid damaging the fibres. Only wash your synthetic wig with aftercare products specifically for synthetic wigs. Detangle the wig gently. Fill a sink of lukewarm water and put some shampoo in the water. Gently swish the wig and leave immersed for between 5-10 mins. Rinse and then repeat with the conditioner. Pat the wig and then leave to dry naturally. Always read the instructions on the shampoo & conditioner bottles, as instructions may vary from different suppliers.

By following these steps and using gentle care, you can keep your synthetic wig clean and look its best for many 'wears' to come. It's generally recommended to wash your synthetic wig every 7 to 10 'wears', or as needed based on how often you wear it.
