Monofilament tops can create the appearance of hair growing naturally from the scalp, while lace fronts can provide a very natural-looking hairline. Synthetic wigs are easy to care for, while human hair wigs offer greater styling flexibility.

The best wigs for alopecia are usually comfortable, secure and natural-looking. Many people with alopecia prefer lightweight wigs with monofilament, lace front or hand-tied cap constructions, particularly when there is little or no natural hair underneath. The best choice will depend on the type and extent of your hair loss, your scalp sensitivity, budget and how often you plan to wear your wig.
